The Doctor’s Social Media Playbook

Grow your presence. Work with influencers. Stay within the rules.

In short

Who it is for. Doctors in private practice, consultants, doctors who teach online, doctor-founders of product brands, and the clinic managers and agencies who post for them.

What you learn. How to be seen and trusted on LinkedIn, Instagram, reels, YouTube, your website and your groups, and how to hire, collaborate with, or be an influencer, knowing where the line is and why.

What you get. Eight practical modules, a printable working sheet with every one, five agreements explained clause by clause, ten scored quizzes and a certificate. Agreement templates written by Dr. Rupal V. Rana, a medical practitioner qualified in law, in consultation with a High Court advocate. One payment, twelve months of access.

Read module one freeEnrol, Rs. 7,999

Module one and its quiz open without payment and without a card. It teaches you where the line is; it does not make any post or campaign lawful, and it promises no patients, followers or bookings.

Patients increasingly look you up online before they meet you, brands message doctors directly, and influencers now want doctors on their reels, their podcasts and their paid courses. Most doctors either stay invisible or post and hope nobody complains. This course is the third way: how to build a presence that is seen and trusted on every platform, and how to work with influencers and brands, knowing exactly where the line is and why. Eight practical modules, a before-and-after rewrite of real-style posts along the way, and five agreements written for doctors, explained clause by clause.

Prepared and taught by Dr. Rupal V. Rana, MBBS, DCH, LLB, LLM, Medicolegal Consultant and Founder, DoctorLawyer™, in consultation with a High Court advocate.

Enrol on the course

Two ways in: enrol now below, or read module one and its quiz first, free and with no card. Either is fine, and one does not cost you the other.

Enrol

We ask for very little: no medical registration number and no identity number.

Please enter your name exactly as you want it printed on your certificate. The certificate is issued in the name on your enrolment, letter for letter, including the title and any initials. Write to us before you finish the course if it needs changing, because a certificate that has issued has to be withdrawn and reissued.

By enrolling you confirm that you are at least eighteen years of age, and that clause 9.1 of the Terms of Enrolment describes you, or that you have told us that it does not. We do not ask for your medical registration number and you must not give it to us.

Read module one before you buy

Not ready to decide? Module one and its quiz open without payment, so you can see the writing, the depth and the way the questions work first. No card, nothing charged, and nothing charged later unless you choose to buy.

No payment and no card. You can buy the full course afterwards, or not.

What you will be able to do when you have finished

Not what you will have heard about. What you will be able to do, on a Tuesday, with the thing in your hand.

  1. Build a visible, trusted presence on LinkedIn, Instagram, reels and YouTube, with posts that teach, and know in two minutes whether a draft crosses the line.
  2. Use the one test and five rule cards on any post, caption, thumbnail, talk ad or page: claims, titles, testimonials, patient images and offers.
  3. Write a LinkedIn profile, articles and talk ads, including paid ones, that build your standing without advertising yourself.
  4. Set up your website and your WhatsApp or Telegram groups the right way, with the privacy notice and consent the law already requires today.
  5. Hire influencers for your product or brand with a brief, the disclosure labels both rulebooks accept, and a contract that keeps your name out of the sale.
  6. Collaborate with influencers: collab posts, joint lives, podcasts, co-hosted workshops, and recording a course on someone else’s platform without giving away your name or your recordings.
  7. When you are the influencer: answer brand messages, gifting, affiliate codes, agencies and sponsors, and know which to decline and how.
  8. Run it as a system: a named approver, a sign-off line, an archive, and a plan for the first 48 hours if a post, a review or a notice goes wrong.
How much of your time this takes

About thirteen hours in all, and none of it has to be done in one sitting. The eight modules take about twenty five minutes each to read; the rest is the sheets, the scenarios and the template pack, which you open when you need them. The course remembers where you are, on whichever device you open it on, one device at a time.

Written to be read on a phone between patients. Every module ends with a working sheet you print, pin up or hand to whoever posts for you.

How the course runsStart to certificate
1
Eight written modules. About twenty five minutes each, read in any order, at your own pace, on a phone or a laptop. Every legal proposition carries the case, section or regulation it rests on, so you can check it. Each module also leaves you a document you can use: the one test and five rule cards, a talk ad sheet, a post and reel checklist, a website and group walk-through, an influencer brief and disclosure sheet, a collaboration checklist and reply letter, a brand deal decision sheet, a sign-off sheet and archive log, and the five agreements in the template pack
2
A scored quiz at the end of each module. Five applied questions, not definitions: a situation, and what you would do. Four out of five to pass. Retake it as often as you like, and the authority is explained on every answer, right and wrong. Your best score is the one kept.
3
A final quiz across all eight modules. It opens once you have passed all eight module quizzes. Sixteen questions, two drawn from each module, twelve out of sixteen to pass. Your sixteen are not the same as anybody else’s. Retake it as often as you need.
4
A certificate of completion, issued once the eight module quizzes and the final quiz are all passed. It is signed by Dr. Rupal V. Rana, MBBS, DCH, LLB, LLM, and carries a number anyone you show it to can check on this site. It is a certificate of completion: not a diploma, not a certification, not recognised by any Medical Council, the National Medical Commission, any university or any Bar body, and it carries no continuing medical education credit.

The modules

01Teaching or selling: the one test, and five rule cardsYou will be able to list everything you publish or answer for, apply a single test (is the reader invited to learn, or invited to become your patient?) to any post, talk, page or collaboration, use the five rule cards that every later module applies (claims and evidence; titles and qualifications; testimonials and reviews; patient images, cases and before-and-after; prices, offers and inducements), and name the four rulebooks that can read what you publish.Open first
02LinkedIn: profile, posts, articles, talks and paid adsYou will be able to write a professional network profile and headline that describe you without advertising you, post and publish articles that stay on the teaching side, answer the comments and messages that follow, and announce a free or paid talk, including through a paid ad, in words the rules expressly allow, with short registration and refund terms for a paid session.25 min
03Instagram, reels and YouTube: saying something useful without advertising a treatmentYou will be able to write a reel, caption or video script that teaches about a condition without commending a drug for it, triage every claim on your grid and your bio as document, rewrite or remove, check that what you say in public is no more confident than your own consent form, and use a patient's words or image only on a specific written consent that sits outside any treatment form.25 min
04Your website and your groups: the walk-through before anything goes liveYou will be able to walk every page of your website as a stranger before it launches, including the pages nothing links to; put the four documents in place before a rupee is taken; ask a hospital's written permission before its name appears on a page that takes a fee; write a charter before a community's first member joins; collect only what an enquiry needs; and run the whole practice on one number.25 min
05Influencer marketing 1: when you hire influencers for your clinic or your brandYou will be able to place any influencer arrangement in one of the three seats and run the control test on it, name the kind of influencer and the kind of deal in front of you, say exactly why a clinic may not pay, gift or barter influencers to bring it patients (including the free "PR visit" and the "influencer day") and what it can do instead, take a doctor's name out of a product's sales argument without giving up the company, choose, brief and contract a non-doctor influencer directly or through an agency, fix the disclosure label for every format using both the government's words and ASCI's, and read Template A clause by clause.25 min
06Influencer marketing 2: collaborating with influencersYou will be able to run the control test on an influencer's invitation, apply the rule and the fix for each of the seven forms a collaboration takes, approve a collab post as a whole, set the rules for a joint live before it starts, keep a co-hosted workshop clear of anything linked to patients, find the clauses in an influencer's course agreement that decide what happens to your name after you stop talking, and read Templates B and C clause by clause.25 min
07Influencer marketing 3: when you are the influencerYou will be able to recognise when the rules treat you as an influencer, run the control test on any brand message, PR package, affiliate offer, agency contract, sponsor, hospital campaign or organiser's request, explain why an "Ad" label, a paid partnership tag or a qualification disclosure answers consumer law and the advertising code but never the Medical Council, decline in writing without losing the relationship, attach a rider to a talent management contract, publish a one-page collaboration policy, say what a doctor-influencer may earn from, and apply a fixed rule to your own product and your own patients.25 min
08Running it as a system: approvals, records and the first 48 hoursYou will be able to name one approver and run a weekly gate, sign off every item against the one test and the five rule cards, keep an archive of everything you publish with every later edit, keep the two registers that answer a notice (claims, and material connections, including every influencer arrangement), handle the first 48 hours after a complaint, an ASCI message, a Council letter, a CCPA notice or a hacked page without making it worse, write your practice's one-page marketing policy, and finish the course by re-running your module 1 inventory as a before-and-after.25 min
BThe template pack: five agreements and the working sheets Template pack, includedYou will be able to choose the right one of five templates for the seat you are in (you hire an influencer, you collaborate with one, or you are one), adapt it without deleting the clauses that protect you, explain to the other side why each of those clauses is there, and know the point at which a template stops and your own adviser starts.Template pack · 25 min
About the bonus module

The template pack is included in the price. Five agreements written for doctors: hiring an influencer for your product or brand (Template A), teaching or recording for an influencer’s paid course or app (Template B), a collab post, live, podcast or guest appearance (Template C), a rider for a talent manager or agency (Template D), and a one-page public collaboration policy (Template E). Every clause has a plain-English note on why it is there, so you know what to keep and what to negotiate. Agreement templates written by Dr. Rupal V. Rana, a medical practitioner qualified in law, in consultation with a High Court advocate. They are demonstration templates for learning: adapt them to your facts and have them read by your own adviser before you sign or send them. The pack sits outside the eight modules: it is not in the final quiz and it is not needed for the certificate. It has its own scored quiz if you want one.

The small printEducation, not advice on your matter. Not clinical teaching. No outcome promised.

This is education, not advice on your matter. Nothing in the primer is advice about any particular patient, complaint, notice or case, and reading it does not create a relationship of adviser and client.

It is not clinical teaching. No module tells you how to treat anybody.

Nothing is promised as an outcome. No course prevents a complaint, and none of this guarantees how any forum will decide anything.

Where a matter needs a lawyer, we say so. Representation before any forum, and any formal legal opinion, is arranged separately with a High Court advocate and is charged separately.
